Our fun-filled day – Showtime at Zippos! On Saturday 28th September 2019, Children with Cancer UK welcomed families with a child with cancer to be our VIP guests at a special performance of Zippos Circus. This year Zippos Circus showcased “The Magnificent Top Hat”, with breath-taking performances from foot jugglers, Kenyan tumblers, Cuban springboard acrobats, knife throwers, contortionists and dancers. On arrival, the children and their families were welcomed by our staff and volunteers and shown into their very own mini big top to enjoy welcome refreshments. They were then taken to the Big Top where they enjoyed a sensational circus extravaganza, featuring over 20 performers. Ringmaster, Norman Barret MBE, hosted the astonishing and action-packed two hours of high-energy acts from across the world. The amazing line-up included the thrilling Brazilian Lucius Team of five motorcyclists in the famous Globe of Death took centre stage plus, Paulo Dos Santos– the brilliant 3 foot 6 inches tall showman, acrobat and martial artist. They were joined by a colourful troupe of artists from all around the world including foot jugglers, Kenyan tumblers, Cuban Springboard acrobats, knife throwers, contortionists and dancers. After the show, and back in the Mini Big Top, the children enjoyed a delicious post-show lunch and met some of the wonderful circus performers.
