Fundraiser of the Month: ActionCOACH

ActionCOACH staff take on individual 12km challenges to raise awareness for Children with Cancer UK once again.

On 12 December, the ActionCOACH team took on their charity challenge ‘12km of Christmas’. Team members ran, cycled, and walked 12km to raise money for children and young people with cancer – raising an incredible £6,352.00 in the process.

The team wanted to raise awareness of the devastating fact that every day 12 families in the UK receive the news that their child has cancer.

ActionCOACH has dedicated business experts based all over the UK, many of whom took part in the challenge and worked hard to raise funds and awareness for Children with Cancer UK.

Juliette based in Nuneaton had this to say about the challenge:

I actually decided to push on and complete a half marathon for the December challenge, which is the furthest I’ve ever run – it was a challenge, that’s for sure. The people in the gym were giving me some funny looks by the time I’d been sweating on the treadmill for 2 hours with my kids cheering me on!

Children with Cancer UK supported one of my friends when she lost her boy to a brain tumour when he was two, so I’m pleased to be able give back to the charity.

This isn’t the first time ActionCOACH has fundraised for the charity, back in 2018, the team sadly lost a colleague and dear friend to cancer, Kent Rhodes.

In honour of his memory, several of the team climbed Ben Nevis, raising over £10,000 for Children with Cancer UK. Last year they took on Mount Snowdon in some intense stormy weather and raised a further £1,845.00. The same team are hoping to take on Mount Kilimanjaro in October 2021.

So far, collectively the ActionCOACH has raised an incredible £19,834! We cannot thank them enough for all their hard work and support. To find out more about their organisation head to their website at actioncoach.co.uk
