Children with Cancer UK is delighted to announce that Gavin Maggs has been appointed as CEO. He will take up his new role in June and be based in the London office near Holborn.
Since 2020, Gavin has been the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Birmingham, where he led a team of 80 fundraisers, data managers, finance, communication and events professionals. During his time there his team has doubled the funds raised from £10 million per annum to £20 million per annum.
Prior to this, he held a similar role at Bath University where he led a team that delivered multi-million-pound fundraising from donors both at home and abroad.
Children with Cancer UK Chairman, David Gibbs, said:
Gavin is an outstanding people person, leader and fundraiser and we are delighted he is joining our charity to build on the record fundraising activities of our staff and volunteers.
Gavin Maggs said:
I am delighted to be joining Children with Cancer UK and look forward to working with the team, our supporters and the Trustees to lead us into the next phase of our growth, towards a world where every child and young person survives cancer. I would also like to thank Amar Naher for his sterling work as Interim CEO – to build on his efforts will be a privilege.
