Leigh Francis launches Christmas single “Christmas Pigs” to raise money and awareness for Children with Cancer UK

Comedian, entertainer, and Virgin Radio UK presenter Leigh Francis, widely recognised for his iconic comedic alter egos, has unveiled his newest venture: a festive charity single titled Christmas Pigs. The single is now available for preorder leighfrancis.ffm.to/christmaspigs

Packed with festive fun and featuring a stellar lineup of celebrity contributors, Christmas Pigs is not only a celebration of Christmas cheer but also a heartfelt campaign to raise money and awareness for Children with Cancer UK, a leading charity dedicated to childhood cancer research and support.

The single includes appearances from Hollywood star Liv Tyler, comedian Paddy McGuinness, musician Paloma Faith, Game of Thrones actor Leigh Gill, Gremlins star Zach Galligan, and pop sensation Louise Redknapp, among others. A host of additional stars from the worlds of TV, film, sport, entertainment, and music will also join the campaign, with their names being announced daily as Leigh Francis presents Virgin Radio UK’s Drive Time Show today.

Christmas Pigs was born out of Leigh Francis’ personal experiences with cancer. His father tragically passed away from throat cancer at the age of 47, and more recently, two of his close friends, Phil and Paul, have faced their battles with the disease. Phil, who co-created the single, was diagnosed with rectal cancer last Christmas but has thankfully recovered. Paul, however, continues his fight against leukaemia.

Reflecting on the song, Leigh Francis shared:

After losing my dad and seeing two of my closest friends battle cancer, I wanted to create something positive to help others going through the same. Christmas is a time for joy, family, and giving back, so Phil and I decided to make a fun Christmas single to support cancer charities. It’s about pigging out on the things we love, embracing festive indulgence, and celebrating life – all while raising money and awareness for an important cause.

This is not Leigh Francis’ first foray into music. He previously collaborated with Phil on the cult classic Proper Crimbo, and their latest endeavour is filled with the same humour and festive cheer. The video also includes heartfelt contributions from friends and loved ones, making it a true community effort.

Proceeds from the single will support Children with Cancer UK, helping the charity continue its vital work. Children with Cancer UK is the leading charity for children and young people affected by cancer in the UK. Their vision is for every child and young person to survive cancer. They work to improve survival rates and the long-term quality of life for those who do, while also striving to find ways to prevent cancer in the future.

Amar Naher, CEO at Children with Cancer UK, said:

We are truly honoured and exceptionally grateful to Leigh Francis for nominating Children with Cancer UK to receive all the proceeds from his new Christmas song. All the money donated will go to fund vital research and help us achieve our ultimate goal of a world in which every child and young person survives cancer.

Leigh Francis added:

Christmas is my favourite time of year, and I want everyone to embrace their inner joy while supporting an important cause. Whether it’s eating too much turkey, laughing with family, or just enjoying the festive season, this single is a celebration of all of that – with a purpose. Children with Cancer UK does life-changing work, and their dedication to improving survival rates and quality of life for children battling cancer is truly inspiring. This Christmas, it’s more important than ever that we come together to raise both funds and awareness for this incredible cause. Every contribution counts, and together we can help make a real difference in the lives of children and families affected by cancer.

Fans can follow the progress of Christmas Pigs and stay up to date with developments by tuning in to Leigh Francis on Virgin Radio UK (Mon-Friday 4-7pm, Saturdays 10-1pm). Christmas Pigs and the star-studded music video is available on all major streaming platforms:
