The TCS London Marathon is one of the biggest sporting events in the world and it holds a special place in the heart of Children with Cancer UK. Thousands of runners have completed that 26.2 mile course whilst wearing our colours and we could not be prouder of the community that’s been created.
Each year, our team raise between £2 – 3million with their fundraising efforts and those donations go directly towards helping to build a better future for families facing the unimaginable. As Sunday 21 April gets closer, we will be issuing 750 pairs of special London Marathon Beads of Courage that our runners will wear on race day. One bead in that pair will then be sent to a child suffering from serious illness so that they will know every step taken was in support of them.
Completing a marathon is a once in a lifetime opportunity for so many people and we cannot thank our team enough for choosing to run with us. The London Marathon is part of our legacy and as we cheer from the side lines, we will be thinking of every parent, sibling, friend and family member that experiences a childhood cancer diagnosis as we get closer to our vision of a world where every child survives cancer.
